New Idea

The Huki Canoes look awesome but it would cost me about $7000 but I found a company that makes nice OC1's in Sydney. A Bladerunner Canoe would only cost me about $4500 which is a large saving from the Huki one from Hawaii.

The other thing is that they are a little heavier coming in at 13kg instead of 9kg. Still not all that heavy and they have won a few races around Australia.

What does OC1 stand for? Is it a one- person canoe? $4500 sounds a lot of money, do you need your own canoe to compete?

Hey Mum,

OC1 stands for Outrigger Canoe 1 person. You don't need your own to compete but our club doesn't own any. It would also be good for Island camping adventures etc. I have seen some on eBay but they have all been fibreglass and heavy so I will wait untill there is a carbon fibre one for sale. That way I'll get what I want
